Elemental Fridays – For Fans Of…

Friday Night Six Pack – The Weirdest of the Weird

Six Pack of Metal

Your boss can take his micro-managing bad breath and endless stupid ideas that are a road to nowhere and stick it under his half-priced toupee. With your check in hand and the entire weekend to jam out, liberation has come.  Continue reading “Friday Night Six Pack – The Weirdest of the Weird”

A Blast of Nuclear Metal

ElementalFridays

Your boss can take his micro-managing bad breath and endless stupid ideas that are a road to nowhere and stick it under his half-priced toupee. With your check in hand and the entire weekend to jam out, liberation has come.  Floating down the highway your car just seems to find the liquor store (how does this keep happening?), and you skip down the aisle looking for the tasty suds that will wet your whistle.  Continue reading “A Blast of Nuclear Metal”

Six Pack Friday: A Return To Hair Metal (With A Modern Twist)

Friday Night Six Pack BannerYou’re down, you’re beat, it’s the end of the week and you want nothing more than to just sit down with a good ole’ frosty cold one in hand. The boss/manager has been on your case this week and you really wanna lay it on them. While fantasizing revenge in your mind might be pretty downright sweet, what’s even sweeter is checking out this weeks Six Pack Friday.

Last week The Shepherd brought forth tunes from an era I wish I grew up in, an era full of attitude and where leather was all the rage. That inspired me to bring out some more Hair/Glam-esque tunes from modern day times. This era really never went away, it just remained underground for a very long time. What inspired this comeback of Glam/Hair metal/rock? Who knows, but one thing I know is that, you deserve to take a break after a long week and just check out some new tunes if you haven’t already yet, you Rockstar you.

CRASHDIET – Down With The Dust

CRASHDIET waste no time in launching that 80’s inspired atmosphere. Put on those jackets, get the motorcycles ready for the upcoming Spring, this is going to be your tune for cruising down U.S. Route 66.

Airbourne – Runnin’ Wild

It’s the end of the week and of course it’s time to run wild! If this track does not make you wanna go out and wreak havoc like Airbourne then I don’t know what’s wrong with you. Maybe you’re getting old….anyway keep your eye peeled for a metal legend to appear in the video!

The 69 Eyes – Jet Figher Plane

Yeah yeah, I know what you’re gonna say. Ignore the goth side that The 69 Eyes bring. You can’t deny they have major Glam influence and this more mellow, darker track has those elements too. I guess you can call this Goth n’ Glam? This track comes to you from their upcoming album, Universal Monsters.

Vains of Jenna – Enemy In Me

After having heard this song when it was released, that told me that glam was making a comeback. Vains of Jenna bring some hints of sleaze too, as this energetic, highly robust track belongs on any party playlist and once you hit that play button, you’ll be surprised by the magic that will ensue.

Santa Cruz – Aiming High

Another party anthem, this is why the 80’s were one long party. This track deserves to be on everyone’s playlist. Just the energy this song emits is enough to fuel me for the day. Hey, whatever it is you want to get over or accomplish, play this track and just like Santa Cruz, aim high brother!

Steel Panther – The Burden of Being Wonderful

Of course the 80’s were known for their ballads too. I will spare you from those lovey dubby ballads and give you a modern day semi-ballad. No worry, this track is still energetic in some ways with ingenious lyrical content and dash of brash, hence the track title. If you haven’t checked out Steel Panther, I would think you’re living under a rock.

Six Pack Friday – Thirsty For Some Blood?

Friday Night Six Pack BannerGreetings. It’s a new year, new attitude and another new Six Pack Friday for you all. Like most of us, Friday’s are something to look forward to, unwind, kick back, grab a drink and let loose with us here at We Love Metal. This week had some rather odd events happen in the media so there’s nothing like a big ole’ dose of metal to inject yourself with and restore your energy. Today we bring you some sick and killer tunes to add to your playlist or to prepare you for the weekend.

Hopefully you all have been enjoying the run Six Pack Friday has been having since we launched it a few weeks ago and hopefully that mancave or fridge is stocked with quality beer and you can have some ME time to metal out. I know if I didn’t get my daily dose of metal, I really don’t know what I would do. Anyway if you haven’t noticed, today’s theme is all about the source of life, the thing the creatures of the night lust and crave for. That’s right, time to prepare for some blood. You might need a bloody mary by the time this is all over. HA.

CRADLE OF FILTH – Blackest Magick In Practice
A dark yet intoxicating spell has been cast. Don’t let the tragic melancholy deter you away from it’s full potential. This one might be even better paired with a glass of blood red wine? The scenes of sacrificial blood are very artistic. Whatever your elixir is for this one, the magick has only just begun.

PRODUCT OF HATE – Blood Coated Concrete
On the trail of blood, this track gets extremely intense. Although I don’t condone violence, it might satisfy some of you to fantasize your bosses blood on the concrete. Seriously, we don’t encourage you to do it, just use this track as a way to relieve those urges. Brutality at it’s most metal finesse.
[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGw2Da84b40[/tube]

ARCH ENEMY – Bloodstained Cross
Devilishly stimulating and all manners sinister and evil, this track presses unholy buttons. Continuing this path of destruction, the track surely will make heads turn and have those straight edge folk running. Some might say this track is telling it like it is others might say it’s metal up your arse, I say, why not both?
[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwi5SJG3K5M[/tube]

CARNAL FORGE – Blood War
After having discovered this group years ago with this track specifically, it was disappointing to hear their lineup and sound changed. Groovy and brutally heavy, this track will win you over. As wild as this video is, one cannot imagine what this lineup would be live.
[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQVQgcMfjOA[/tube]

AVATAR – Bloody Angel
A world where a man cannot escape that which is haunting him, the “Bloody Angel” in this series stalks him in his dreams only to realize the angel has been waiting for him all this time. The video itself is almost a mini-horror movie, worth it to check out, not to mention the anger this track brings along with it.
[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h71NBBbOjmw[/tube]

SLAYER – Raining Blood
What? You didn’t think we could leave out the best song about blood could we? This is the best and greatest song about blood. Nothing else can compete. Period.
[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDk6fvkEp2k[/tube]

If you made it this far, ok you can keep your blood. If not, there’s plenty of creatures here that would be more than willing to aid you with that. Kidding, of course. It doesn’t help that I wrote this during the peak night hours….hmm perhaps my instincts are kicking in…..stay tuned next week where we continue with more havok and terrifyingly brutal assaults of metal for the masses.

Six Pack Friday – Merry Metal Holidays

Friday Night Six Pack BannerWith the holidays here and in everyone’s face, we in the metal community feel the need to get even more into the metal spirit (at least I do). The need to metal out is dire during this time of the year when we are surrounded by annoying retailers bombarding the media, bullshit christmas music and stupid Christmas sweater parties. Does anyone else agree? I’m here today to bring you some Christmas music with of course, a metal twist…a current favorite of mine as well as a video or two to help kickoff happy hour, wherever you may be at.

Every Friday we will be showcasing Six videos that perfectly compliment a nice cold brew in hand, perhaps even inspire you to make one of these videos your theme for the weekend. So grab a nice frothy cold brew from the fridge or hurry up and hit up your local liquor store..don’t worry we will wait for you to come back…just don’t take too long…Metal waits for no man. Ready?

HELLYEAH – Drink Drank Drunk

Time to open that first one. If this track doesn’t spark you to start drinking, I don’t know what’s wrong with you. This song deserves to be played at any bar…give those straight edge folk a little scare or two. Everybody get Drink Drank Drunk!

[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3_zGMqk6fQ[/tube]

Twisted Sister – Oh Come All Ye Faithful

With that last one in mind, don’t let this one discourage you from sticking around. It’s time for happy hour, everyone get loose and sing in unison…aaanddd….GO!

[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmEfFlbqbbY[/tube]

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (Metal Version)

With Dez Fafara and his diabolical vocals at the helm leading this one, I wonder what Rudolph would look like had he gone heavy metal. The entire album complilation this track is from is superb. I think the vocals on this one is enough to turn your trees black mwahaha.

[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHW6dNuogxo[/tube]

Viking Christmas

Gather your kin around a brightly lit fire and reminisce what you enjoy about Christmas. Apparently for these Vikings, the song is about what they remember most about Christmas growing up. Is this really Amon Amarth…or is it a totally different act? Nonetheless, it’s a killer track.

[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTTegnql6mY[/tube]

Ghost – Deezer Sessions

I think this is the most metal way to end our Holiday Six Pack. Now for something completely different, this triple dose really press the buttons of the holiday spirit. Personally, the third track, Absolution, at (10:25) is the best one. Oh the chorus is just killer in every manner! Nonetheless the entire video is hypnotizing. Though this is supposed to be a six pack, this video is more than enough to finish you off and if you do head to church, make sure it’s the Church of Ghost!!

[tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=315qJJ3Y9uA[/tube]

May the rest of your holidays be filled with metal cheer. Pick yourself up from the heavy doses of beer you rockstar you. Until next week where we continue more vids/tracks to kick back to with our best friend, Mr. beer. Stay Metal!! m/
